Career path

Directeur de Recherches au CNRS, membre statutaire de l'IHPST.

Mark van Atten studied Artificial Intelligence at Utrecht University as well as Philosophy at Utrecht and Harvard. In 1999, he defended at Utrecht University a dissertation directed by Dirk van Dalen, Charles Parsons, and Richard Tieszen, "Phenomenology of choice sequences". Then he worked at the Brouwer Archives in Utrecht and at the Husserl Archives in Leuven. His main areas of research are philosophy of mathematics and idealistic philosophy. He works in particular on Brouwer and Gödel from a Husserlian point of view. In 2010 he obtained the right to direct PhD theses.
